Peer Review Process

  • Each publication is evaluated at least by two independent reviewers from outside the author’s affiliation.
  • The journal provides a single blind peer review process (anonymous peer review); the names of reviewers are not revealed to authors. By accepting the review invitation, reviewers declare no conflict of interest between them and authors, by either the direct personal relationship or research collaboration in the last two years preceding the time of review.
  • Reviewers are asked to do the review within four weeks.
  • The written review contains a clear proposal for the publication or rejection of the scientific article in accordance with the conditions of admission.
  • On the journal website, the eligibility criteria for the review of articles and for their acceptance or rejection are available.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

The journal is co-financed by the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Journal History

Archives of Acoustics was founded in 1976 as an international journal, however its early international distribution was limited. Since 2004 it provides free internet access to abstracts of all research papers published from 1976.
