The technique of acoustic emission (AE) is still currentlu applied to the investigations of the plastic deformation of metals and alloys (e.g. [1, 2]). One of the controversial problems is the explanation of the influence of grain size on the acoustic emission (AE) activity [3, 4]. Some of the experimental results indicate that AE increases with diminishing grain size; however, there are cases where an increase of AE has been observed with increasing grain size. ...
